5/18/11...Halleluia! finally a positive step - in response to member requests to adopt shelter Pets-Not-Found, the site has not only released the specific pets requested, but virtually ALL of them...sing praise!
5/17/11...putting some pieces together - has anyone else noticed different behaviors in the widgeted PNFs? linking that together with the new Rivet bait-and-switch app on FaceBook has got us thinking...may have to bite the bullet and try it out to compare them. if nothing else, it may be a honeytrap to keep the disenfranchised foopetters - many of whom came to the site when it was a FaceBook app - content and unsubscribed. the new membership drive is targeting new people only - old members are not eligible. why bring back educated troublemakers who know what happened here and will ask uncomfortable questions? (of course, they didn't succeed in getting rid of us altogether...)
5/16/11...well, well. could it be their new plan for pay-to-play isn't going quite as well as planned? can't think of any other reason they'd be offering a 100foo$ bounty for bringing in new fish...or relanding existing ones. check your Friends tab...

5/6/11...it is now confirmed from various sources that the shelf life of a FooShelter inmate is at best 30 days before they go Pet Not Found.
Please - do NOT release a pet to the shelter unless you have an adopter standing by - we have lost far too many already.
5/5/11...Care Logs back to the old system of data-dumping on Wednesday nights - and we understand there are now a host of cheerful little activities to keep us all amused over in the Forums now...how very - belated - of them.
5/3/11...well, the Pet Sams finally made an appearance - i wish i could take that as a good sign, but i've learned to be suspicious of any seemingly-charitable act on the part of the site...
on the positive side, pets fed by widget register the care on their profiles, so if you don't mind a little extra work setting them up (i bookmark mine), all fosters not care-blocked by owners can now be tended. for some reason, the care menu on the bottom of mine vanishes if i move the cursor off it, but reloading the page brings it back.

5/2/11...it appears they have adjusted the Care Logs so that they "float" at the seven-day mark. pardon our cynicism, but we suspect this is so that they can check on uncared-for pets with an eye to repossessing them...and as the FooSlaughter ("Adoption Center" my left toenail) is now eliminating pets that go unadopted for a fairly short length of time, we rather expect that to start soon. still no sign of the Pet Samaritans who were supposed to provide such tender care for the pets they denied us access to...and all the ownerless pokeys are now throwing Mad Kitty...not good...

Word has gone out through the grapevine that other new rules and changes are in the wings - watch your back and keep your eyes and ears open. FooMojo now appears to be a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftBank, and we are ferreting out the new cast of characters in charge. (this was put up nearly a year ago...and we have yet to find reason to change it...sigh)

I've noticed that some members are buying the items that still have both FD and FG prices so they can buy with a few thousand FG and sell it back to the Mart for FD's.

...they dealt with it by getting rid of the Foo$ option - punishing those who had the items legitimately along with the creative, as usual - but that just became small potatoes indeed...see top of blog.

ReplyDeleteI see they've done away with gifting as well...I was going to go in and gift all of my old inventory since most of it is FooDollar items but they're too greedy even to allow that.
ReplyDeleteonly CF's can gift...ain't they clever? but the worst news is the fooshelter extermination...and apparently your account is locked onto your last pet even if you place the rest, so they can keep the "warm body" accounts without having to deal with noisy, messy members...

find a friend with CF to oversee the well-being of the pets who remain in your account until you can return!
unless they are deliberately destroying the site (a possibility, but then it doesn't matter anyway, might as well try, okay?), this ghastly new system will collapse under its own weight in short order - like by the end of the next fiscal quarter.
i'd almost suggest that those who have one CF account simply record the links of and tend the others, even if they CAN Club-Foo the other accounts...just to bust their financial balls...
I can't take all the changes anymore, I deleted all my accounts, don't want to give those people money.

The last time I saw a post about someone getting the Service Unavailable notice they were clearing out the Mart to make shopping for stuff "easier"....

I have deleted browser history and have the latest adobe flash player, but I can't get my cat to appear on the screen, Please help. Norwegian - you can only use the widget from an "active" foopet account - we are trying to figure out how to slip people in under the radar without getting the new site shut down as well. with the widget, friending is no longer necessary, but we will have to do a lot of prep, so please try to be patient.
ReplyDeletecalankh - if that is your username here, i can go into the account and check on them, and try to get your CF'd friends to help tend - all else failing, i can set them all up in widget form and tend them that way.
Hi Gold Rush. I was just wondering if there were any updates to the suspended accounts. I haven't seen any further posts about it here or on the blog. Was just wondering what was going on and if my pets are being taken care of or not. Is the Lifeboat account permanently suspended cuz I tried logging on and it still said it was? Any update would be good to have even if it is bad news. Did Foo say why they suspended the account if none of the terms were violated?

ReplyDeletewe have fought our way up to the next level of authority, and they are falling back on a catchall clause "anything Rivet Games decides is inappropriate ot not ok for the site" - we have them on the ropes...we have all the accounts covered, either by us, Canaan, or CF'd friends - we've contacted them and everyone stepped up to the plate beautifully.

the widget only works if you have a foopets login to access it from...if you do, here is his widget code - http://www.foopets.com/widget?pet_id=9911432 - he is our "poster pet" up on the page, you can just click that to get to him...but it looks like you have his care restricted, i get "not permitted" when i try to feed or water him. he is being well cared for by your friends, though, i check on him daily. we are still fighting to get 4theGG back online.
