7/6/11...well. it seems that SOMEONE is listening to - or at least eavesdropping on - less than ecstatic Forum posts...in the wake of the (deleted to protect the poor picked-upon cheerleader) ClubFoo Forum thread by singingbadger, in rapid succession we have been granted the ability to at least SELL* accumulated LLs (* - at half their list value, of course, and only to the site) , and a compromise of sorts on our requests for the return of member-to-member sales.
sounds like it's time for a little concerted effort...if they are amenable to change - or worried about their bottom line in the face of continuing member attrition - perhaps it is time to start a bit of a push once more.

Let's have some suggestions as to how people would like to proceed from here. we're willing to stick our neck out once again...but we need to know you're there, and care, and will at least tacitly back our action.
send up a flare, folks! even if the busies see it here (i half-hope they do, actually), they can't touch you for what you say in an off-site blog...and you don't even need to use your "real" name.

(((hugs))) you make great points and I am trying to get the old brain in gear to wave the flag. I've been going flat-out feeding closed accounts -- Rivet has scored a goal there, people are desperately feeding the pets of lost friends, but then it scored an own goal by capping the rewards, especially the gems. LOL they have NO idea how their own game works
ReplyDeletethey use it primarily as a testing ground and feeder for Pet Tales...with which people are getting rapidly disenchanted, especially those who experienced this site in its original state. as all pets not specifically blocked by owner are now accessible via widget (which does NOT benefit Rivet for time-on-site), it makes NO sense to maintain the fostering block - or any of the other candycoated "improvements" that were made solely in the service of the pay-to-play conversion.
ReplyDeleteYes it makes no sense at all, and I cannot conceive why they cannot re-allow fostering nor why they use that appalling half-baked PetSam to "care" for the frozen accounts. Look at the frozen Admin accounts jeff-foo and foopets-test and, surprise surprise, they are being fed and watered still by the Admin bot, every 24 hours, which keeps the bonding bars up as well as petting and playing. The bonding badge is missing so it does not increase that to have the bot running. So WHY do they not use that and give better care to the frozen accounts? Everyone knows fine that the petsam care is in fact a ghastly semi-starvation and it has not stopped people from leaving the accounts to freeze, so it would not hurt the owners at all to make a decent care system -- and allow fostering again.
ReplyDeletefrom what i am seeing, this site is getting a minimum of oversight - other than by a few strictly local A's, and the ambs - at this point : our new owners, Rivet, having gleaned what they could harvest for Pet Tales, seem to be paying very little attention to Foo...something i hope to turn to our advantage.
ReplyDeleteI agree, there really is a minimal presence and they appear not to be the least bit interested in the game or the players. It's almost as if they decided they had sufficiently crippled the game and now they can ignore it. I hope you succeed in at least getting something turned to our advantage!
ReplyDeletethe fact that within a very short time from the CF thread "Getting My Money's Worth", we got at least a nod toward two of the specific items mentioned - LL disposal and pet sales - gives hope...

ReplyDeleteone of the things we are going for is a scholarship/membership gifting ability (as opposed to violating TOS to give a friend a CF membership). if they don't go for THAT, you KNOW they are trying to fade the site away...
ReplyDeleteLook what's happening to SPP. Google bought the game, then they stopped the sale of gold (same as FD), then stopped making new items and actively supporting the site (but will eventually fix reported glitches). It is now to be shut down within 6 months, they say. I say less than 6.
